AU Employment Law: Understanding the Essentials


Overview:  

Complying with employment law is no joke, being compliant is not only good business practice but foremost enables recruiters to be confident and handle conversations had  with clients and candidates. The objective of this plan to learn program is to ensure recruiters know their responsibilities across the following basics:
 
  • National Employment Standards (NES): The national minimum wage and the NES make up the minimum entitlements for employees in Australia.
  • Modern Awards/Agreements: is a document which sets out the minimum terms and conditions of employment on top of the National Employment Standards (NES).
  • Employment Contracts including calculating rates of pay

Learning Outcomes:

  • National Employment Standards (NES): who is covered and what makes up the NES
  • Modern Awards: what is a modern award, who is covered, when modern awards don't apply & keeping up to date and understand how common award clauses apply to on-hire employment
  • Employment Contracts: conditions set out in your contracts and the broader conditions that may affect what on-hire workers 

Meet the facilitator: Amanda Curatore

Amanda Curatore is a qualified Solicitor and Senior Associate at FCB Group. Amanda is highly experienced in providing workplace relations advice and assistance to clients in a wide range of matters such as: Employment contracts, Modern Award interpretation, Performance management, Bullying & harassment, Terminations, Unfair Dismissals, Redundancies and Risk Management.

Amanda is a dedicated professional and frequently supports both FCB Group and HR Assured with various marketing initiatives including hosting webinars, writing blog articles, and preparing content for various events and publications.

  • All start and end times listed are displayed in Melbourne | Australian Eastern Standard/Daylight Time unless stated otherwise
  • Workshop joining links will be sent to registrants no later than 48 hours prior to delivery from [email protected]
  • RCSA Workshops are not recorded and participants are required to attend using their own device with working webcam and microphone. Any no-show attendees will be marked absent and will be considered as a non-refundable transaction

Pricing:

  • Member registration to attend the live delivery is $235.00 AUD + GST per participant
  • A group registration rate is available for a minimum of 5 registrations for members from the same organisation. To qualify for this rate, each of the 5 attendees must be registered at the time of booking at the group rate of $211.50 AUD + GST per participant
