Shaking it up in 2024

17 January 2024

The new year has arrived, wiping the slate clean after a somewhat challenging 2023 for Aotearoa’s staffing industry. Last year brought with it economic volatility, natural disasters, the retirement of a Prime Minister and an election. RCSA congratulates its members for remaining resilient against the stormy environment.

2024 is shaping up to be one to remember, and for all the right reasons. The team at RCSA has been knuckling down and is excited to deliver a raft of memorable events and training opportunities to its membership base throughout the year.

Now could be the time to get your passports in order. This year, RCSA is scattering Major Events across New Zealand and Australia with the first event scheduled for May. Melbourne will be hosting the biggest and boldest Talent X on record. The event is suitable for the whole team and will boast three stages of speakers and a huge program to cater for recruiters from all walks of life. Expect cutting edge content, providing the latest in recruitment insights, technology, and solutions. While held in Australia, the content will be highly relevant to all New Zealand operators.

Another major date to pencil in your calendar is the RCSA Industry Awards night which will be held on June 13 at Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre. Applications have already closed, and the judging process begins next month with finalists to be announced at the beginning of April. As the years go on, these awards have grown in prestige and the quality of submissions have become exceptional. It’s a testament to the passion our members have for their work.

2024 is the year of double the fun. RCSA is preparing to host two SHAPE conferences. The first will be held in August in sunny Noosa, Australia, and a New Zealand focused event will be hosted from magnificent Te Tauihu-o-te-Waka-a Māui /Marlborough in October. SHAPE never fails to deliver. Make sure you keep your eyes out for updates to ensure you don’t miss out on your ticket.

Major Events aside, there is so much to look forward to in 2024. The Learning and Development team is excited to start rolling webinars, workshops, and educational content, while the Media and Advocacy team continue to work tirelessly behind the scenes to promote and protect the industry. The passion that the team at RCSA has is underpinned by its membership base.

While we are only halfway through January, there is a strong sense of optimism for the year ahead and we have hit the ground running. In a few weeks RCSA will release its quarterly Jobs Report Data which will paint a measured picture of how the job market is tracking and enable us to create some media opportunities to champion the industry and enhance our public profile.

RCSA continues to be passionate about supporting our members by telling their stories. New Zealanders are rich with tales of success and inspiration, whether they be business focused, centred around social purpose or an individual achievement. If you have a win or a story you would like to share with the community, you can contact our Communications Specialist Kate Ryan at [email protected].

Let’s show 2024 what we’ve got. #arohatōmahi
